Known for its ease of use, Guitar Pro allows you to easily and intuitively enter notes by using keyboard keys, mouse clicks on a fretboard or directly a MIDI instrument.

The Chord Diagram Generator

The chord diagram generator allows you to easily add chord diagrams to your score, but it is also a unrivalled reference tool for the guitarist.

Ask for any chord in any tuning and Guitar Pro will show you every diagram possible.

Create a chord diagram by clicking on the grid, and Guitar Pro will give you all the corresponding names.

The Scales Tool

The scale tool allows you to view and listen to a large number of scales, from the most common to the most exotic.

The selected scale can be displayed on the fretboard or keyboard and thus serve as a reference for writing a score.

An analysis function is also available to search the whole score or part of it for scales used.

The Digital or MIDI Tuner

The digital tuner allows you to tune your guitar by pluging it to the sound card input or by using a microphone. The MIDI tuner allows you to tune your guitar by ear, string after string.

The tuners work for every tuning possible, from 4- to 7-strings.


The Fretboard and the Keyboard

The fretboard, available for 4- to 7-strings, allows you to view and enter notes on the score.

It is able to show the notes of the current beat, but also the next beat ones, the complete bar ones, or the selected scale ones. A really great tool for beginners or mouse work.

The keyboard is also available, and has the same features as the fretboard. It can be handy for non-guitar tracks.

The Metronome and the Countdown

The metronome gives the tempo while playing a score. You can also use it alone without playing a score.

The countdown gives the tempo on an empty bar before playing the score. It gives you the time to take your instrument after having launched the playing.


View and Listen your Tab

The Image... and the Sound!

Far more than a simple editor, Guitar Pro allows you to view and listen to a score under the most favourable conditions.

The 100%-adjustable screen display optimizes the available space by adapting the score to the windows width.

Optimized Playing Functions

While playing, the score scrolls automatically and a cursor indicates the played note.

The sound restitution is able to render guitar-specific effets like bends or slides...

The unrivalled Speed Trainer tool allows you to play a part of the score looped while making the tempo change at every pass. Very handy to learn a solo!

The Mix Table and the Global View

Guitar Pro includes a complete mix table that allows you to set the tracks audio parameters like the instrument, the volume, the chorus or the reverb. You can also use it to mute one or several tracks. Perfect when you want the computer to accompany you.

Import, Export and Share

MIDI Import/Export

MIDI Import allows to convert a MIDI file (simple description of musical notes) into a true multitrack tablature.

Guitar Pro computes and optimizes each note position on the fretboard in order to make the score as easy as possible to play.

Guitar Pro is also able to export the tablature to a MIDI file in order to use it in other softwares.

ASCII Import/Export

The ASCII format - or simple text file - was the first format used to share tablatures.
Given the ease of use with a simple text editor, this format is widely spread despite its obsolescence (no way to play the score...).

Guitar Pro allows you to convert these text files into Guitar Pro scores in a simple mouse click to listen to them or to print them.

Guitar Pro is also able to convert a tablature into a ASCII file.

WAVE Export

The WAVE Export allows you to convert a Guitar Pro file into an audio file. This way, it will be playable without Guitar Pro, and you will be able to burn it onto an audio CD.

BMP Export

The BMP Export (image) allows you to save your tablatures to a big image. This image can be integrated in a web page to spread it for example.
