Since Avid cannot work with the PDW-U1, but can use the proxies that are on the disk:
This application can also rip the proxy video and place it on your harddisk so you have less work importing the proxy video.

Most important, it's quite fast! Getting proxy video with HQ audio should be at least 8 times RT. It can also be used to extract the original proxies with low quality audio, and wrap it in Quicktime with Quicktime Timecode / reelname for logging purposes.
