The Legendary Zorro goes off on another adventure to protect the future of California and its citizens. The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher, a crime drama based on a true case in Victorion England, has a great cast; but falls flat. Its a mannered, gentle affair, wholly devoid of tension. Mr Witcher investigates a crime, forms suspicions in the absence of cooperation from the local police, but comes under political and popular pressure and is unable to conclude his case successfully; years later, some evidence emerges that supports his theory; but thats it. Were never given particular reason to care about the crime; and while we naturally sympathise with the protagonist, he isnt the crimes victim, and is powerless in the face of the machinations around him. Perhaps were so used to crime dramas that are improbably dramatic that its hard for a more naturalistic story to succeed; but its also fair to say that Victorian England never really comes to life in this tale.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a film unlike any I've ever seen and probably ever will. A true epic that left me utterly speechless. It accomplished so much through such simplicity. Everything was top notch from the elegant directing to the subtly wonderful performances down to the magical score. The film demands you to feel not only for the death we witness, but for the incredible life we discover. It prays on the obvious morality issues we all deal with but also dangles the idea in front of us that everyone goes through the same joys and grievances, just not in the same way. This is a momentous tale that deserves nothing less than the title of brilliance.
