Storyline: Fox reality-show special in which a grown adoptee identified as 'T.J.' must choose her biological father from among a panel of eight men. She choose correctly, winning the $100,000 prize; if she had chosen incorrectly, the prize would have gone to the impostor chosen. The producers picked a stunning blond adoptee who, though she looked like a stripper, was not -- though she'd played one in the movies: She was actress T.J. Myers, star of the B-movie Seduction of Innocence.

Peter Mullan's third feature as a writer and director, after Orphans and The Magdalene Sisters, returns him to the 1970s Glasgow of his youth, although the Trainspotting and My Name is Joe actor stresses that Neds (which stands for 'Non-Educated Delinquents') is 'personal but not autobiographical'. We meet confident, studious John McGill just as he's about to start secondary school, where he fully expects to continue his so-far glittering academic career. But there are dark clouds on the horizon. His friendship with middle-class Julian shines a light on both his poor background and the dysfunction of his home, where his father is drunk, violent and ineffective, his mother is troubled and repressed and his elder brother is always in trouble with the law. At school, there are one or two good teachers, but most are uninterested and unhelpful in the face of the brutal and territorial gang culture which has spread from local housing estates to the schoolyard.

Much of Season 2 focuses on the alternate universe. It is established that Peter from the present universe died from a childhood disease; Walter, already with knowledge of the other universe, crossed over hoping to save that Peter, but instead was forced to bring him back to his universe, and kept this knowledge to himself. While Walter was aware that his crossing created "soft spots" in his universe, he is unaware that more significant and dangerous singularities occurred in the alternate universe as ripple effects of his crossing. As a result, the alternate Walter (referred to as "Walternate"), now U.S. Secretary of Defense, leads a more powerful Fringe division in the alternate universe to deal with further breaches, including the development of shapeshifting technology that could travel to the present universe, and the means to communicate with its agents once there. Meanwhile, the Observers warn Walter that he should not let Peter return to the alternate universe as to avert a great disaster to either universe; Bell later describes this "great storm" to Olivia when she arrives.

With refactoring, programmers can transform even the most chaotic software into well-designed systems that are far easier to evolve and maintain. What's more, they can do it one step at a time, through a series of simple, proven steps.

Album released in Switzerland in 1991 bringing together 20 different pieces arranged especially for their adaptation to ballroom dancing at gay and living styles, including boogie woogie, foxtrot, samba, tango, etc. It ranges from classical songs (Gioconda or Carmen) to popular (Cielito Lindo or La Bamba), through the gospel (Glory Hallelujah) and others. Instrumental interpretations relate mostly to the orchestras of Frank Pleyer and Peter Gonez.

This is an amazingly comprehensive series by the UK's premier reissue label, and like volume one, concentrates on pre-British Invasion rock and roll (1954-1963) with an emphasis on artists who worked with small independent labels. There are lots of hits here (14 of these hit the Top 10), but they are mostly one-hit wonders. Only six of these artists charted more than once in the Top 40 and only two charted more than twice. But all that means is these are not artists who have already been anthologized ad nauseam.
Many of these songs will not be found on other anthologies, such as Jimmy Charles' "A Million to One" (No. 5), The Halos' "Nag" (No. 25), The Hollywood Flames' "Buzz Buzz Buzz" (No. 11), or The Bell Notes' "I've Had It" (No. 6). There are also a handful of singles that never cracked the Top 40, like The Willows' "Church Bells May Ring" and the Gladiolas' "Little Darlin'" (both of which would be made into hits by The Diamonds), and The Videls' "Mister Lonely" (not to be confused with Bobby Vinton's hit "Mr. Lonely").
And there are huge hits here, too. Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs' "Stay," The Silhouettes' "Get a Job," and The Hollywood Argyles' "Alley Oop" all went to No. 1--the latter two sold over a million copies each.
Overall, the song selection is great. Seven of these songs (7, 8, 10, 13, 14, 18 and 23) were included in Dave Marsh's book "The Heart of Rock & Soul: The 1001 Greatest Singles Ever Made." And with an unheard of 30 tracks, this collection is sure to satsify all fans of early pop music. As with the previous volume, the booklet is well done with lots of info on the artists and the songs and the sound quality is excellent. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
