"Saxophone" is a collection of Philip Glass works for, well, saxophone. The instrument plays important part in Glass music - it is always present in Philip Glass Ensemble and most composer's works have saxophone (or other woodwinds) parts (Glass is a flautist himself). So it is natural that saxophone is well suited to express musical ideas of Glass. The album contains quartet version of Saxophone concert (version with orchestra can be found in album "Symphony No. 2"), a piece for Ensemble's woodwinds part "Windcatcher" and 13 melodies for various solo saxophones (performed by Andrew Sterman).
