this is a modification for diablo.

originally i played diablo v1.07, but i have been hit by black deaths that
permanently reduces your hp, and at other times i've accidentally hit mana-reducing
shrines.. sigh. not talking even about that infamous mana-shield bug.

those are all gone in the "the dark" modification for hellfire. with this you can
play lan-wise (see readme) with your friends, or even using hamachi with your
friends located outside your own lan, that is, in the wan.

best played on crts, though lcd play well too, either using no scaling in driver
options, or using default scaling (that is, full-screen) options.

i've not really played this but from what 'ive read, this is good playing too, as

unique-items appearances, i've found constricting ring on butcher the other day
playing with my little cousins (we went no further than level 3 though).
