The story is a prequel to the video game Assassins Creed II. It centres around the father of the games main character Ezio Auditore de Firenze. Giovanni is an assassin living during the Renaissance in 15th century Italy. At this dawn of a new era, a conspiracy is being plotted by one corrupt family to overthrow the powerful Medici family and destroy a unified Italy. As an assassin, Giovanni must face this threat and bring justice. The story introduces the situation before Assassins Creed II, and the enemies of both characters.

Assassin's Creed Lineage fills in the back story of ACII by focusing on the exploits of Ezio's father, Giovanni Auditore da Firenze, a master Assassin. Ezio makes a short cameo in the first segment, but he is young and naive, and not yet an important player in the saga. The most noticeable element of the short is how eerily similar everything is to the game. That's because the environments were rendered directly from the Anvil Engine, the same engine used in both Assassin's Creed games. Ubisoft also cast the same actors in the film that were digitally interpreted for the videogame and inserted using a green screen. The result is a world that looks extremely similar to the the game but is strangely realistic. It's often difficult to distinguish which elements are computer generated and which items might actually exist.

Blade Dancer is a fantasy RPG featuring anime-style characters, animated movie sequences, full 3D visuals and network play. The game places you in the role of Shane, who as part of his training heads off to a island. There, he meets a strange girl, Ferris, who he must help in the midst of great troubles.Blade Dancer includes fully 3D fields, with a battle system slightly different from normal random encounter systems -- strike a beast, and you'll end up entering battle. One of the big elements of the game is its "Crafting System," where you combine items that you've collected into new items. The game stores recipes for you, although the more adventurous will want to try out their own creations. The game also features networking systems for up to four players to connect together.

He would have been properly addressed as "Leonardo".
